Adult Group Guitar Class
This Adult Group Guitar Class, led by experienced instructor Jacob Vallejo, will consist of 6-8 students learning guitar together in a fun and supportive environment. The course focuses on building strong fundamentals, with the goal of confidently playing complete songs over time. Students will cover essential topics such as how to properly hold and tune the guitar, right- and left-hand techniques, and how to use a pick.
In the beginning, students will learn simple, one-string songs like “Happy Birthday,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Seven Nation Army.” As they progress, they’ll move on to playing songs with basic chords from artists like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and CCR. The class also covers reading chord diagrams, guitar tabs, and traditional notation, along with basic strumming techniques and understanding rhythms and note values. Additionally, the group will work on songs with individual parts, allowing students to play together as duets or trios, fostering a collaborative learning experience.
