Music & Movement Adventures
San Antonio Music Academy is excited to announce Music & Movement Adventures, a class designed for 3 and 4 year old learners. This class offers not only musical growth but invaluable opportunities for early childhood development. Through engaging music and movement activities, children will build confidence, make new friends, strengthen memory skills, and establish a strong musical foundation that will prepare them to transition to piano lessons at age 5. This 45-minute class, designed for a small group of only 6-8 students is led by our piano instructor, Mrs. Sarah Norrie.
Why Music?
Research shows that early exposure to music not only sparks creativity but also lays a strong foundation for brain development. Studies have found that music engages multiple areas of the brain simultaneously. Published studies have reported that musical training can enhance neural pathways involved in language, memory, and emotional processing. This means that when your child sings, claps, and plays, they’re not just having fun—they’re also building critical skills that support overall cognitive development.
Moreover, neuroscience has consistently emphasized that the first few years of life are a critical window for development. Engaging in musical activities during this time can promote better auditory processing, emotional regulation, and even social skills, setting the stage for lifelong learning and success.

Who is San Antonio Music Academy?
San Antonio Music Academy (SAMA) is a private music school located on the far west side of San Antonio in the Alamo Ranch area (Culebra & 1604). Founded in 2010, we offer private lessons for piano, guitar, drums, voice, and violin. In addition, we offer group classes to include toddler music programs, student bands, and class piano. All instructors on staff have university training in their chosen instrument and experience in music pedagogy. Our mission is to ignite creativity, nurture talent, and encourage growth.
