Becoming Inspired to Achieve
Have you ever been to a live concert by your favorite artist and then returned home, only to have the strongest desire to practice your instrument or voice? I call that being “Inspired to Achieve.”
Often times in our daily lives, we get bogged down by the typical routines of school and work, and we neglect the practice that our instrument or voice needs in order to achieve great musical heights.
Here is a suggestion: go see a live show of a local musician, a live band or performing group. Watch videos on YouTube of your favorite singer or group. Then set aside some time to work on your musical craft. You may find that you’ll finally be able to pick up that musical skill you’ve been trying to perfect. Use your inspiration to motivate yourself to learn a new song, a technical musical passage or to extend your vocal range.
Next time you find yourself stuck in a musical rut, take a step back, enjoy some music and then get back to work on your ability. Become “Inspired to Achieve.
