Roland Guerrero, B.A.
Executive Director
Roland Guerrero began his musical journey at age nine, taking guitar lessons and developing an early interest in piano. Throughout middle and high school, he continued studying and performing music, playing mallet instruments in the school band and guitar in the school jazz band. Roland continued his music education at Palo Alto College, where he studied classical and jazz guitar, before transferring to the University of Texas at San Antonio where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. During his high school and college years, Roland performed with several rock bands, playing at local venues throughout San Antonio and the surrounding areas. These experiences gave him the opportunity to explore music from both an academic and live-performance perspective.
Today, Roland serves as Executive Director of San Antonio Music Academy, where he helps guide the school’s programs, staff, and overall direction. His approach to leadership centers on creating a professional, organized, and welcoming environment where students can grow as musicians, instructors are supported in their work, and families feel connected to the school.
Outside of music, Roland enjoys learning languages. He’s conversational to varying degrees in Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian, and Mandarin Chinese. Students and families who speak these languages are always welcome to say hello and put him to the test.
