Marissa Garcia, Office Lead
Growing up in a deeply musical family, Marissa developed a lifelong appreciation for music from an early age. Her musical roots run deep, with her mother’s side of the family carrying a mariachi tradition and a cousin performing in a well-known country band, while her father’s side includes an uncle who toured nationally as part of a famous rock band. Surrounded by a wide variety of musical styles and traditions, music has always been an important part of her life and continues to inspire her today.
Marissa began playing the violin in the fifth grade and continued through her freshman year of high school before discovering her passion for choral music. She advanced to Varsity Choir as a sophomore and continues to enjoy singing in her free time.
As the Office Lead at San Antonio Music Academy, Marissa brings more than eight years of customer service experience and nearly three years of experience working with elementary-aged students. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment for every student and family. From helping new students get started to assisting current families and supporting the academy’s instructors and staff, Marissa is committed to ensuring every interaction reflects the academy’s dedication to excellence and community.
Outside of the academy, Marissa enjoys gaming, painting, listening to music (her favorite band is BTS), spending time with family and friends, and caring for her cat, Rita. She believes music has the power to connect, inspire, and enrich people’s lives, and she is proud to be part of helping students discover that same passion every day.
