Khadijah Enriquez, B.M.,
Voice Instructor
Khadijah hails from Del Rio, Texas, where she discovered her love for singing and music at an early age. In middle and high school she was involved in orchestra (violin), several choirs (Varsity Mixed, Varsity Womens, Jazz/Show Choir), and musical productions like Annie, Hairspray, and Into the Woods. With encouragement from friends, family, and her high school choir director she moved to San Antonio to study Vocal Performance at the University of Texas at San Antonio as a first-generation college student. She has proudly called San Antonio home since then!
While in college, Khadijah took intensive private lessons in performance and found love for vocal pedagogy. Her academic training was comprehensive with music theory, aural skills and piano, and her vocal training was primarily classical, involving singing in Italian, French and German. She loved and learned a lot from being a part of all choirs and lyric theatre programs offered at UTSA, and continuing her involvement in the summers as a camp counselor for their TMEA All-State Choir Camps and Lyric Theatre camps.
Since graduating in 2019, Khadijah has continued her musical adventures by being a part of the internationally-touring Yellow Rose Singers (she recently sang in France, Belgium, and The Netherlands!) and the local San Antonio Mastersingers (whose last season involved a concert with the esteemed Andrea Bocelli!). She also sings with her beloved church choir at the Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio.
She remains a lifelong student who is always looking for ways to improve her own performance and pedagogy, partaking in several courses throughout the year with other voice teachers whom she admires. When she’s not out catching her friend’s or student’s shows and performances throughout the city, you can expect her to be embroidering, cooking, struggling to learn to crochet, or continuing her foreign language studies.
