Isai Trejo B.A., Violin Instructor
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Isai was handed a violin by his father at the age of 9 and never looked back. Learning by listening and imitating his brother’s sound, Isai voraciously embodied classical, fiddle, pop, film, hip hop, Mexican, and middle eastern genres and was usually in the first chair position throughout grade school. He is largely self-taught. After performing at weddings and parties throughout his early 20s, Isai was invited in 2017 to teach at a music school, focusing on children and the Suzuki method. He graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Isai has taught private violin lessons for over 8 years at Sam Ash, Music & Arts, San Antonio Music Academy, Antonio Strad Violins, and in 2024, he became the orchestra director at Stafford Visual & Performing Arts School where he teaches violin, viola, cello, and double bass while collaborating with young dancers, singers, artists, and actors for shows. Isai brings experience from street performance, wedding events, orchestra directing, improvisation, string quartets, musicals, and is comfortable teaching in Spanish.
In his free time, Isai enjoys playing the drums, the ukulele, the cello, the mandolin, working out, dancing, yoga, hip hop, EDM, meditating, journaling, and philosophizing. He is secretly working on writing a book.
