Hannah Petersen, B.A., Piano Instructor
Hannah Petersen graduated from University of Incarnate Word in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Although born in Savannah, Georgia, Hannah considers Cibolo, Texas to be her hometown. She began taking piano lessons at eight years old, but she’s always been surrounded by music as her mother is a voice teacher at UIW. She began developing aural, sight-reading and vocal skills when she joined the Texas Children’s Choir at a very young age. Much of Hannah’s degree pursuit involved music therapy and she hopes to soon pursue a Master of Music in Music Theory.
Hannah has been teaching private lessons since 2018. She’s been involved with the Texas Children’s Choir, Mixed Company A Capella group, barbershop quartets Ethereal & Dually Notated, and UIW’s Cardinal Chorale. She considers herself a philosopher and loves learning and the pursuit of knowledge. While her primary instrument is piano, Hannah taught herself to play guitar and ukulele.
Outside of private lessons at SAMA, Hannah loves anything involved in the arts! She’s been involved with organizations and competitions in drawing and theatre. If she isn’t listening to music, you can find her with a book, sketchbook, or watching movies. Don’t get her started on her love of TV & film!
