Dr. Eric Young, B.A., Pharm. D,
Piano Instructor
Eric was raised in Midland, Texas and started playing piano at the age of 5. He quickly fell in love with classical music from composers such as Chopin, Liszt, and Schumann. Eric went on to study music under Professor Gregory Allen at the University of Texas (UT) Austin, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a concentration in piano and music theory. He began teaching piano as an undergraduate student at the recommendation of Professor Allen, who felt that Eric would be a great teacher.
Eric has also earned a Doctorate in Pharmacy and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Science, but music remains his main passion. He previously held a position as Piano Instructor at the Greater Austin Music Academy, where he taught private lessons, group classes, and music theory. With over a decade of teaching experience, Eric has worked with students from beginner to advanced levels and looks forward to helping each of his students play to the best of their ability.
In his spare time, Eric loves learning languages and traveling. He speaks Mandarin Chinese and Spanish conversationally, with additional conversational knowledge of Portuguese and Russian, and continues to study other languages. His love of language learning and travel has given him an appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
