Connie Edwards, B.S., Piano Instructor
Connie Edwards is a recent transplant to Texas from Minnesota. She and her husband moved to San Antonio to be near their son and his family. Connie began playing the piano at age 5 with her grandmother as her first teacher. Growing up in rural Arizona meant that piano teachers were very few and far between, but her parents believed strongly in music education for all their children and made the two-hour drive to a larger city every week for lessons.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Bob Jones University in South Carolina where she studied piano with Dr. Duane White. She has been teaching piano privately for over 30 years to both children and adults. One of her greatest joys is to see how playing the piano has such a great influence in so many areas of a child’s life.
In addition to teaching, she has spent much of her professional career as an accompanist for both school and church musicians. Accompanying choirs, soloists and worship teams has been a great deal more fun than work. While teaching piano is her first love, Connie has also had a career as an administrative assistant with the Mayo Clinic and the Minnesota House of Representatives. In her free time, she likes to read, quilt, and bake cookies with her grandchildren.
