Mari Garza
Mari’s interest in music sprouted from her father who was a guitarist and a singer in Mexico. Her mother played the piano at a young age, so she decided to follow that same path when she played at a local music school where she would eventually teach years later. As a child, Mari lived in Baja California, Cumming, Georgia, and later Laredo, Texas which she considers her “home town.” Fernanda decided to pursue piano professionally after graduating from United High School in Laredo, Texas.
Mari started teaching piano at the age of fifteen as a freelance private instructor. She got hired at a music school in Laredo, Texas at the age of sixteen to professionally teach piano lessons and has been teaching ever since. In her free time, Mari enjoys reading, painting, yoga, and learning new recipes. She also considers herself the world’s worst dancer but loves to dance! Ms. Garza is also bilingual and is trying to become fluent in French.
Ms. Garza attended Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas where she was classically trained under the instruction of Dr. Friedrich Gechter for five years.
