A big THANK YOU to all our amazing SAMA students and families who joined us on Sunday to make Student Appreciation Day truly unforgettable! Your enthusiasm and support mean the world to us, and we’re beyond grateful for each and every one of you.

A special shoutout to our talented students and instructors who lit up the stage with awesome band and solo performances. Your passion for music made Student Appreciation Day extra special, and we couldn’t be prouder!

We also want to thank our dedicated admins and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Student Appreciation Day

On Sunday, March 3rd, SAMA will be hosting its first ever student appreciation day at Brackenridge Park from 3-7pm. This event is intended to bring the entire SAMA community together at once to celebrate and say thank you to the students and their families that help make SAMA so special.

Student Awards & Raffle Prizes

We will be giving out a ton of student awards, chosen by their instructors. We will also be raffling off several items, including music instruments. You’ll receive an email in February with a link to purchase raffle tickets. All profits from the event will go to Pencils of Promise, a non-profit that builds schools and supports education in developing countries. In line with SAMA Core Value #5, we found it important for our organization to assist in any way possible to support those for whom educational access is not guaranteed.

Student Performances

We have rented out the Koehler and Cypress pavilions and will have group performances at one pavilion and solo/duo performances at the other. All SAMA students are welcome to perform, regardless of age or skill level. There is no fee for students to perform, but space is limited as the event is only 4 hours long. Performance availability is on a first-come first-served basis, so we recommend signing up now!

Sign-up now closed.

Games

In addition to the amazing performances, we will have fun games and activities for students to participate in during the event and are looking for student or parent volunteers. If you’re interested in helping make this event special for the SAMA community, sign-up here to volunteer:

Food Vendors on Site

We have scheduled 3 local food vendors to come out to the event. The City of San Antonio only allows food sales to our guests and not the general public. When you go up to purchase food, be sure to have your wristband visible (that you’ll get from the check-in table) so that they know you’re a guest of the event. Be sure to bring your appetite!

San Antonio Music Academy is awesome, my son loves the guitar lessons and is super excited to attend every week! He started with zero experience and progressed surprisingly fast. Randy is an amazingly talented guitarist/teacher. He is very patient, yet knows how to push students to the next level. Highly recommend all the instructors, the staff is great!
