Khadijah is a Del Rio native and has always loved music since a very young age. She began her musical involvement in middle school through the school orchestra and choir. She favored choir as she got into high school. At that time Khadijah became involved in several ensembles such as mixed Jazz & Show and Women’s Ensemble. It was when Khadijah’s choir director introduced her to an opera called “La Traviata” that she became inspired and more dedicated than ever. She then realized she wanted to pursue music professionally.
Khadijah attended the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance under the direction of Dr. Susan Olson. During her studies, she taught private voice lessons under the supervision of vocal pedagogy instructor John Nix. She has also taught independently during summer seasons. Khadijah spent time as a camp counselor at the UTSA All-State Choir Camp for the past four years and was a camp counselor and assistant for UTSA’s Lyric Theatre Camp for two years.
In her spare time, Khadijah loves to embroider, bake, and spend time outdoors. She has an active cooking-based Pinterest and baking account on Instagram and is currently trying to perfect her foreign languages of Italian, French, and German.
