Nick Flores, a San Antonio native, developed his passion for music at an early age. Inspired by watching his sister’s school band, he knew he too wanted to be a part of something bigger than himself. When given the chance, he jumped at the opportunity to join McAuliffe’s middle school band. While in middle school he started his very own rock garage band called crAyon. It was in his junior year of high school that he decided to spend his life sharing his passion and musical talent with others. Shortly after graduating Nick put his music career on hold to enlist in the United States Army. Nick honorably served our country between the years of 2001 and 2004. Shortly thereafter, he then went on to earn his Associate of Arts from Palo Alto College and subsequently his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Nick has 6+ years of teaching experience and has taught at several local high schools and middle schools including Taft High School, Clark High School, and Garcia Middle School. He has held various positions ranging from percussion instructor, private lesson instructor, and held the position of Band Director while at Jourdanton High School. While Nick can teach all genres, he specializes in Rock, Jazz, and Classical. Nick and his wife Nichole have two daughters, Alexandria and Alyza, and are expecting another baby girl this December! In his spare time, Nick enjoys working with computer technology and following the automotive industry.
