Tanisha Smith, B.S.,
Tanisha graduated from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 2013. She was the Founding Member and Director of “So Free” womens a capella ensemble and a member of Chamber Choir, University Singers, and Worship Choir while at the University of Mobile. Tanisha studied under Dr. Patricia Ramirez-Hacker, Dr. Allanda Small Campbell, Mrs. Darla Earnest, Dr. Patrick Jacobs, and Dr. Christopher Lovely.
Tanisha grew up in a very musical family and had her first voice solo in church when she was just four years old! She sang “Jesus Love Me” with her father. She decided to pursue music as a career when she was a senior at San Antonio Christian School.
After graduating, Tanisha studied abroad in Kiefersfelden, Germany at the International Performing Arts Institute for musical theatre. She has completed classes in acting, choreography, voice and business for the performing artists.
Most recently, Tanisha was the choir and theatre teacher at San Antonio Christian School for six years, where she founded the middle and high school choral program and the middle school theatre program, on top of annually directing two full student theatrical productions! Tanisha was also the music director of STARZ Youth musical theatre program for several of their performances. She is trained as a mezzo-soprano and soprano in classical, musical theatre, belting, praise and worship, and big band jazz styles. Tanisha’s also currently a vocalist for the Lamplighter Big Band Dance Orchestra here in San Antonio!
