Sarah Miga, B.A.
Sarah Sirois Miga started singing at the age of 12. She began singing with the Childrens Chorus of San Antonio, which gave her the opportunity to perform with the San Antonio Symphony under the direction of Maestro Ken-David Masur, the San Antonio Master Singers under the direction of Dr. John Silantien, and the San Antonio Opera. She has studied privately with Irma Taute, and in high school with Linda Poetschke of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Sarah has competed multiple times in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), competing both on the local and state level as well as competing in state UIL solo & ensemble competitions. Sarah graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music, earning a Bachelor of Arts in vocal performance under the coaching direction of Dr. Marylin Bulli and Dr. Michelle Alexander. Sarah has performed as a soloist both in a recital setting and in a chorus setting.
Sarah is currently pursuing her master’s degree in vocal pedagogy at UTSA in order to better nurture the love of music in her students. She enjoys working with each student and finding the best ways for them to learn in an enjoyable environment. In her spare time, Sarah and her husband Jonathan keep their hands full with their son Charles, born October 2016.
