Randy Naranjo, M.S.
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas Randy started playing guitar at age 14. He attended Del Mar College where he studied with Classical Guitarist Philip Hii, Jazz Guitarists Chester Rupe and Keith Justus. Randy continued his music education at Texas State University under the instruction of Mark Cruz, Morris Nelms and Dr. James Polk. While at Texas State University, Randy had the opportunity to share the stage with great jazz musicians such as Pete Christlieb, Dr. Stephen Hawk and Wes Anderson. In 2006, he received a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Studies. After leaving Texas State University he relocated to Austin where he studied with guitarist Glenn Rexach and Tommy Howard.
In 2009 Randy received a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Randy holds a teaching certificate in All Level Music and has taught elementary music and middle school choir for Corpus Christi ISD and East Central ISD. Throughout his college and teaching career Randy has stayed active as a performer, playing with groups varying in styles from Classical, Jazz, Motown, Funk to Rock. Randy has taught private guitar lessons to students of all levels and ages. Currently, he lives in San Antonio with his wife Cathy.
